Local SEO for Dubai clinics: the map pack is the whole game

For a clinic, three map results matter more than the ten below them. Most of the work to win them is free.

Where patients actually look

Healthcare search is overwhelmingly local and overwhelmingly mobile. Someone searching dentist near me on a phone sees the map pack first, and for many that is the entire consideration set.

This is good news for a clinic with a modest budget. Map pack visibility is driven largely by things you control and do not pay for.

Google Business Profile is the highest-leverage asset you own

It is free, it is the primary input to the map pack, and it is almost always incomplete.

  • Primary category set precisely — dental clinic, not medical centre
  • Every service listed individually rather than described in one paragraph
  • Opening hours accurate, including public holidays
  • Real photographs of the actual premises, added regularly
  • Questions answered — you can seed and answer common ones yourself
  • A booking link that works on a phone

One profile per branch, always

Multi-branch practices frequently run one profile for the whole group. Every branch after the first is then invisible for searches near it.

Each location needs its own verified profile, its own phone number where possible, and its own landing page to point at.

NAP consistency, which is duller and matters more than it sounds

Name, address and phone number must be identical everywhere they appear — your site, your profile, directories, insurance listings, the health authority register.

Variations like Suite 4 against Office 4, or a landline in one place and a mobile in another, weaken the signal that these listings describe one business. Fix the inconsistencies before buying citations.

Reviews: volume, recency and replies

A steady flow of recent reviews outperforms a larger number that stopped two years ago. Recency is a signal in itself.

Ask at the point the patient is most satisfied — after a successful treatment, not in a monthly email blast. Reply to every review including the negative ones, because prospective patients read the replies more carefully than the reviews.

Never buy reviews. Beyond the policy violation, review fraud is a consumer-protection issue in the UAE, and for a healthcare business the reputational downside is not worth the upside.

Location pages that are not copies of each other

The standard failure is one template with the area name swapped. Google treats these as near-duplicates and picks one, so the others are wasted.

Each location page needs genuinely local content: parking, which metro station, which insurers are accepted at that branch, which practitioners work there, what the building is called.

The booking flow nobody tests

Almost all of this traffic is mobile, and booking flows are almost always tested on desktop. Open yours on a phone and try to complete a booking with one thumb.

Fixing that path is usually worth more than any additional traffic, because it multiplies every visit you already have.

Common questions

Do we need a separate page for each treatment?

For treatments people search for by name, yes — that is the page that can rank. For minor variations, no; they will compete with each other.

How do we get more reviews without breaking the rules?

Ask directly at the moment of satisfaction, make the link one tap, and never offer anything in exchange. Incentivised reviews violate Google's policy and can remove the ones you already have.
