What social media management costs in Dubai — and what it should deliver

Most social retainers are priced per post. That is a measure of effort, not of outcome — which is why so many of them quietly produce nothing.

The going rate

Social media management in Dubai commonly runs from around AED 1,500 per month for a single-platform content schedule to well into five figures for multi-platform work with production and paid media attached.

Ours starts at AED 1,500 per month, month-to-month with 30 days' notice. Ad spend, where it applies, is separate and paid to the platform directly.

Why per-post pricing distorts everything

A retainer priced as twelve posts a month rewards producing twelve posts. It does not reward producing enquiries, and the two frequently pull in opposite directions.

The predictable outcome is a feed that is consistently active and commercially inert. Everyone can point at the deliverable; nobody can point at the result.

Metrics that mean something, and metrics that do not

Follower count is the headline number in most reports and among the least useful. It can be bought, it does not indicate intent, and for a local service business a few hundred people in your city matter more than tens of thousands anywhere.

  • Useful: saves and shares — they indicate the content was worth keeping or sending on
  • Useful: profile visits and link clicks — the step toward an enquiry
  • Useful: direct messages that turn into conversations
  • Weak: follower growth on its own
  • Weak: impressions, which mostly reflect how much you posted
  • Weak: engagement rate, if the engagement is from accounts that will never buy

Organic and paid do different jobs

Organic social is slow, compounding and mainly about credibility — the place a prospect checks after hearing your name. Paid social is fast, buys reach precisely and stops the moment you stop paying.

Problems start when one is bought and the other is expected. A content retainer will not produce a lead pipeline on its own, and paid social pointed at an empty profile converts badly.

Content that works in this market

Dubai audiences are heavily served with polished, generic brand content, so the bar for stopping a scroll is high. What tends to work is specific rather than glossy:

  • Real work and real premises rather than stock imagery
  • Answering the questions customers actually ask, in plain language
  • Short vertical video, which every platform currently distributes hardest
  • Bilingual where the audience is bilingual — not everything, but the things that matter

How to judge the retainer at month three

Ask one question: how many enquiries came from social, and can you trace them? If nobody can answer, the tracking was never set up, and no amount of posting will fix that.

Common questions

How many times a week should we post?

Consistently enough to stay visible, and never more than you can do well. Three considered posts beat seven filler ones on every platform currently.

Do we need to be on every platform?

No, and trying is the most reliable way to be mediocre everywhere. Pick the one where your buyers actually are and do it properly.
