Everyone plans Ramadan late

Gulf seasonality is the most predictable thing in the regional calendar and the most consistently under-planned.

The date is known years ahead. Consumption patterns shift in ways that are well documented and stable. And yet the median brief for Ramadan creative lands about five weeks out, which is roughly half the time required to do it properly.

The cost is not creative quality — agencies will always produce something. The cost is media efficiency: inventory prices in the run-up are set by everyone else planning late at the same time.
